never never buy a sauna from sahara valley sauna

Ripped my mum right off to the value of £700. Paypal wouldn't do anything to help. Never never trust them. My poor mum felt like committing suicide for losing all that money. Don't think she will ever get over the fact that she thought she would be safe using PayPal

Paypal

3 stars because of money they eat

I shop on various websites and they offer paypal payments. That is flexible option when you do not remember your credit / debit card numbers. But when you sell any item on its partner websites, you need to pay huge amount of fees to these guys and money is sometimes stuck. Their customer service is fine but there also you need to pay money to talk to them as their number starts from 0800. Money, money, money... Paypal is your pal when you pay them...

Paypal

Avoid if Possible.

I avoid using Paypal wherever possible as I am completely satisfied with the security if I pay on my credit card. Unfortunately some companies insist on using Paypal which is linked to my credit card anyway.
Paypal are one of those companies I dread having to contact.
Did anyone see the awful review they got on Watchdog on BBC1 very recently it all sounded very familiar.
Avoid wherever possible!!!!

Paypal

VERY DISILLUSIONED! WON'T ACT EVEN FOR POTENTIALLY FATAL GOODS BEING SOLD!

PayPal are great for selling via eBay, etc, but I recently ordered a battery for my husband's laptop from a company claiming to be based in the UK. Unfortunately the battery caught fire 4 days ago, completley damaging his laptop, which we've had to replace at the cost of £420! The battery is supposed to be guaranteed for 3 years - we haven't even had it for 3 months! The company concerned - top-battery.co.uk won't reply to emails so the chance of getting a refund looks very unlikely...
PayPal don't want to know as it is out of their 45 day dispute period, even though the battery took 2 weeks to arrive from China, not the UK, as the website would have you believe. Even though this company is selling dishonestly and worse still, selling extremely dangerous goods PayPal are still allowing them to trade and trading standards can't do anything either as they are not a UK company.
I have written a formal complaint to Paypal stating that under the circumstances - serious health and safety issues and international delivery which seriously eats into the 45 days - they should review their 45 day policy and extend it to 3 months. They could easily refund us by taking the money from the seller's account.... I'm still waiting to hear from them, but don't hold out much hope.

Paypal

Thieves

PayPal decided to put a limitation on my account on December 21st 2012. At the time they advised me that on March 20th (god knows which orifice they pulled this date from) they would release my funds.

Low and behold, March 20th arrives and the F***ING THIEVES will not give me my money back!

From what I have read here I am not alone - A BUNCH OF F**KING THIEVING C**TS!

Paypal

Paypal Has Unethical and Unreasonable practices

In February 2011 PayPal decided to place my account on Limitation giving me limited access and I was asked to provide my up to date financials before they would consider releasing access to my funds. Eventually after much persuasion and information provided by myself they finally to release my funds but would keep 20% of all my transactions for 90 days. As you can appreciate for some small business like mine this was a large dent in my cash flow and therefore I decided to remove the PayPal logo and payment method from my website. However I had no choice but to leave it on eBay as this was the only form of payment that I could take for eBay customers. Just for your information I averaged around £60,000 per month in transactions through PayPal. There were thousands of customers whose accounts were placed on a reserve and limitation. Basically they wanted to sit tight on others hard earned money and earn interest.

As a business we continued in this manner for over one year just for our E bay account and in October of last year I received a call from one of Pay pals sales Managers called David Devereux to consider using PayPal as a payment method on our website once again. I was very reluctant to do so due to the previous stress and issues that we had with pay pal. He confirmed to me that he would have the reserves limitation placed on the account removed and let’s enjoy the good partnership between us once again. Furthermore he informed me that he would ad a sum of £500 to our PayPal account as an incentive for moving back to PayPal.

Eventually we agreed to David Devereux persistency and confirmed to him that we would offer PayPal as an alternativeoptional method of payment to customers.

In the months of November and December of last year I purchased links using my PayPal account from various shopping directories for the purpose of SEO/marketing for our website. It was found by my marketing manager that these links were poor quality links and would have a negative impact on our marketing strategy. As a customer of PayPal I exercised my right of placing disputes on various companies concerned and asked for a refund for providing inferior services. Some of the disputes placed were refunded back to our PayPal account as the sellers agreed and some of them were being reviewed by PayPal to reach an outcome based on what I had informed them. I informed them the sellers had provided inferior/substitute services.

On The 4th February I called David Devereux to enquire about the £500 incentive that was promised and he told me it had been credited on the 17/1/13. I checked and this was correct. On the 5th February I received a call from business support asking how the account was running and that PayPal was pleased with the turnover we had achieved in the month of January (over £75,000), and if I needed any help with any issues. On the sane day at 12.05am midnight I receive a mail saying my eBay account had been limited as well as my Pay pal account due to suspicious activity. . I immediately telephoned David Devereux the next day expressing my deep concerns. David said he was not aware that my account had been limited. I also spoke to the Business support department only to be spoken in a very rude manner, who told me PayPal have decided to part with us without giving any notice. On the 8th February after many calls made by me to David Devereux, he called me back and informed me PayPal are not willing to reopen my account. I asked him why this was the case as I had not breached any terms of my agreement with them. He didn’t comment.

I am really shocked and disappointed to say the least my account has been closed because I placed disputes against sellers which I had every right to do so as a buyer. I exercised my rights as a buyer through my PayPal account. This is a right I have as a buyer for my protection from the seller. Thousands of other customers fall victim to pay pals illegal practices and experience similar treatment, but are reluctant to pursue against them due to the size of their organisation. However I will pursue this matter in court as a matter of principle.

I have no option but to instigate legal proceedings against PayPal for loss of earnings and profit, not to mention the impact it is having on my business reputation. My eBay account has also been frozen. Customers are unable to pay as PayPal is linked to my eBay account as both companies are one organisation. I have an excellent eBay account which has got a Top rated seller standing but that has now been placed into jeopardy by these dictators. I approached Ebay to understand their position on the whole thing but refused to offer any support and said it would be best that i opened another paypal account and link to my Ebay account. This too has been frozen with over £4000 in there. Paypal tell me they will hold these funds for 180 days and enjoy earning interest on this.

I strongly urge businesses/consumers to think 3 times before using PayPal as a payment gateway. All businesses who entirely rely on Pay pal as means of receiving or making payment are placing their business at risk.

If anyone else has difficulties with Paypal then please email me at info@furnitureinfashion.net so that be can make our voices heard to the public at large and to stay well away from this organisation, who the FSA will not even regulate.

Paypal

Not really great at all

It is ok, but expensive way to pay for items.. you lose any real rights over your money once you pay tho.. so if something goes wrong. you have no rights..

Too expensive just to make payments and when things go wrong, nobody is interested..

Paypal

What is customer service...we dont know or care!

As a buyer you are told you get this amazing 'buyer protection'. Well you better read the small print sucker!!!! You see apparently this is only valid on thursday evenings between 9 and 10pm, oh yea, and during a lunar eclipse.....

To give you an example i bought an item which was faulty, returned it but got no refund from the seller. According to Paypal (and this is word for word) ' because the address the seller gave you isn't the same as the address on their Paypal account we can't help you'. Silly me huh! Thankfully I used my Barclaycard so I was able to chargeback Paypal. I felt a bit bad going behind their back an all but they did waste 2 weeks of my time just to tell me how their super dooper buyer protection didnt apply to me. Ok back to serious talk below.

If you are reading this and do not enjoy stress I suggest you do not use Paypal. In reality Paypal did stress me out for 2 weeks and were actually rude and abrupt on the phone. If you use Ebay to buy things then try Amazon instead - their customer service is truly excellent - even though you might pay 5% more for an item you'll thank yourself if something goes wrong. No arguing with paypal's laughable 'customer service' team. I could have lost over £300...don't let yourself get caught out by these rogues!

Paypal

Paypal

Crooks and Idiots

They are a Company that needs to listen and take note of what people say and change their ways

Looking at all the reviews concerning Paypal, they should start to listen what people say.

My story is a bit long but I will try and keep it as short as possible.

I run a company and gave my partner some stock to sell to clear a debt between us and for her to make abit of extra money. All was going well on Ebay until these uneducated, unhelp and unprofessional people decided that she was a business and not an individual, so they requested all sorts of paperwork asking her where the goods had come from and did she have the right to sell them on Ebay. What where they implying?

Paperwork was submitted proving that she was an individual and I even sent them paperwork proving that I had given her the items with clear title, but that was not good enough.

Now her Paypal Account has been limited and she has to wait 180 Days for her money back, who keeps the interest, they do! Sadly she has now got to deal with some buyers raising cases and getting her money cleared because they have not received their items, a joke because they were sent by courier and tracked, instead of talking to the buyer and get the case closed YOU have to ask Paypal to resolve it and that is a pain.

These people need to be regulated like our UK banks and not just make decisions at the drop of a hat. Their customer service departments are rude and unwilling to deal with your dispute, same with Ebay as well, they like to tell you many a different tale.

Maybe it needs people to vote with their feet and if necessary take the action required to make them sit up and listen. I am sure the FSA would be interested in their attitude!

I am sure that many more sellers / buyers will have bad experiences with Paypal, they are a law to themselves. If you can use another cheaper payment gateway and avoid these crooks, then do so, at least they are regulated profesional bodies.

Thanks for reading this and I hope that our story will help

Paypal

Improved over the years

I had a very bad experience with PayPal once as they refused to refund me money after i got ripped of on Ebay, £40 went to waste but that was couple of years ago, since then dealing with them now couldn't have been easier!

Paypal

Perfect in every way!

Lost count of the times I've used paypal to purchase goods through the internet and have never been disappointed. For a safe, speedy and secure payment method they can't be beaten. I would advise anyone who purchases goods online to open a paypal account as more and more online retailers accept paypal as it really is the best method to buy online.

Paypal

Money grabbing highwaymen

It seems that almost every transaction I have had to do with paypal attracts commission, either sending or receiving money and their tie in with E Bay makes for a unholy experience.

Try to avoid as much as possible!

Paypal
Paypal

Paypal

Paypal Going from Strength to Strength

Paypal has come in for some serious criticism over the past few years but as a business user I’m starting to find myself saying more positives then negatives about them these days. One of the advantages of using Paypal from a business point of view is that they offer protection under their Seller Protection Policy. For instance in the unlikely event of a chargeback occurring, something that most retailers dread you do have the chance to appeal and unlike card service providers i have dealt with in the past Paypal remain neutral and do not always side with the buyer regardless.

I also like the fact that customers who use Paypal for purchases would have had a certain amount of information such as address and a debit or credit card verified by Paypal.

Paypal is not fraud proof method of accepting payments but it certainly does in my opinion offer safeguards that other payment service providers do not,

Paypal are not the cheapest way to accept online payments but in my opinion they are one of the safest out there today with ever increasing online fraud.

Paypal

Crap

Paypal

Fastest and safest way to pay on the internet

Never ever had a problem using Paypal, very safe, always secure and very speedy with great email support.

Paypal

Decent service, but at a price

Good service, but for the small user, like me, it comes at quite a price (3.4% + 20p per transaction). I get people to pay through online banking as much as possible to avoid the high charges. I would encourage more people to use PayPal if the chagres were lower.

Paypal

secure

paypal is safe and dispute system works well

Paypal

Money money money

A really safe way to pay for your goods and services. I wish more companies would use them. Life is so much simpler knowing you don't have to worry about your bank details going astray!!! Would recommend this service to anyone.

Paypal

Terrible Company

If you've worked with Paypal very much, you'll realize how bad their system is. They don't really listen, no seller protection (really, that is), and their arbitration is a joke. Someone else come up with a competitor please!
