I ordered an expensive item via Amazon for my 50th birthday. It was supposed to arrive today when I was off work. I have to admit my heart sank when I saw the courier was City Link but hey the parcel only has to travel 20 miles what can go wrong????
At 11:45 they alledgedly attempted delivery and left a card. They would have had to walk past me working in the garage with the door open to leave a card and if they had knocked at the door a) the dog would've barked or b) it would've been answered. No card. They'll bring it on Monday instead they said on the tracking.
Rang them and was on hold for 20 minutes at premium rate. No answer - cowards!
Rang Amazon who weren't able to tell me whether the courier would be able to carry it inside for elderly relative on Monday. Great just great!
Checking tracking again later on I see that the parcel is now marked as 'delivered'. At 2pm. Oh really? Cue frantic run around outside looking for huge box weighing 26kg. Nothing!
Panic! Where is it then? I haven't got it. Signature says DELD. Huh? That's not my name? None of the neighbours are called that either.
Called Amazon again. They will chase it with City Link. But I have to wait up to 48 hours for a reply. So no birthday present and more than 48 hours of worry as they don't work on Sundays. Great!
Still fuming. Still unhappy that City Link lied about the attempted delivery, lied about the card and lied about the item being delivered. Why? Probably to make their delivery statistics look ok because we all have targets don't we!!!
Contacted Amazon again tonight to cancel the order. I no longer want my item from them if City Link is the courier they choose to trust with items worth nearly £1000.
It is a shame Trust Pilot have 1 star as the minimum rating. ShityLink do not deserve a star. They deserve a punch in the face.
Anybody who uses City Link should be arrested for cruelty to parcels.
No parcel should have to endure the pain and suffering that City Link parcels experience.
Say no to parcel cruelty!
Say no to City Link!
City Link obviously do not believe that communication is of any importance. They forgot to put our delivery on the van then proceeded to ignore very clear instructions to leave the parcel with a neighbour. It was only good luck that my husband got home early from work to see the driver about to drive off. The driver had not been given the instruction, despite my husband having phoned on the previous day when the same instruction had been ignored (again not the fault of the driver). I have submitted my complaint twice on their website with no reply from them. I would never willingly use this 'service' if I had any hopes that my requirements would be met!
My parcel was supposed to arrive 2 days ago. I've been calling them to ask about it, around 3 or 4 times a day. Firstly I I got no info and false promises: 'It's going to be there today' , 'It'll be there tomorrow for sure', etc. Last time, they said that the 'item was missing' and that I would receive a call from the depot, I'm still waiting. The delay is going to cost me money, besides the inconvenience of having to wait for the parcel for three days at home. Please stop using this delivery company.
By far the worst delivery company, I can't believe Amazon still use them... it's been a week since they were supposed to deliver and still haven't got the parcel, despite calling *every* day... it's disgraceful and you should warn everyone to not use it.
I don't know how this company is still in business. The customer service is non-existent. We ordered a painting for my parents wedding anniversary and use interparcel as the courier it arrived to us 3 days day with no explanation or apology we opened the packaging to find the frame and glass smashed. the answer we received was that its no there problem well im sorry but if I am putting my faith in your company to complete a simple task as to delivery my parcel to me in one piece so of us quite clearly can not do their job properly. Ill give you a clue, its not ME!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish i had read the reviews of this company it is not the first time we had have dealings with this company but can assure you it will be the last and would like to WARN EVERY SINGLE PERSON LOOKING TO USE THIS COMPANY IN FUTURE TO READ ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AND STAY AWAY. We received part payment of our delivery charge because it was not on time put wash there hands to anything else. All correspondence I have had with this company will be being sent to Trading Standards and also Watchdog and would suggest everyone else do the same. Its about time companies like these get what they deserve. This company and there dodgy third party companies have cost me a further £120 in repair costs not to mention £600 on a new painting for my parents wedding anniversary.
"It's on it's way" "It's in transit" "It will definitely be with you today" "You parcel is now our priority" "Still not there? It should be"
What an absolute waste of time and effort, money and tears. So frustrating that even if you eventually get through to customer services they just spout a load of untruths to you. No sympathy, empathy or honesty to be seen.
It is supposed to be a "priority" now that it is 2 days late but still not important enough to be delivered until 3 hours after making a 20 min journey. WTF. According to the log it has been put on the van 3 times!
Next day delivery is a joke, since they manage to lose the package. Their online tracking system simply doesn't work. Nobody answers the phone (I've tried waiting on hold for up to 30 minutes with no joy). An epic failure of a delivery company. I will now no longer buy products from any company that uses Citylink for delivery.
I had a parcel that was marked to have been attempted the delivery without ever the driver have come to my flat's door as I asked my front door neighbor to get the parcel to me that she has not seen as well no card left.
I have called the customer services number to change the depot to one near to my home but that is not (incongruously) possible according to City Link and, in fear that this will happen again by re-booking the delivery, I will just spend my Sunday morning collecting this from the depot.
So yesterday was my birthday. But City Link were due to deliver a parcel. Never mind, I don't mind waiting in, I can go out and celebrate once it's been delivered. I check the website to see when it's due. Between 13.18 and 15.18. Ah, well I'm not going to be able to go out for lunch just in case they are early (!). And so I wait. I decide to make use of my time by going into the front garden to potter around. At 16.00 there is no still no sign of my parcel. I check the website "Sorry we are running late". Oh well. Who wants to celebrate their birthday anyway?
By 19.30 I'm getting concerned. I'd really fancied going out for a meal tonight. but it's too late now ... oooh - look "19.25 delivery was attempted but there was no one there to accept". I fire off an email of complaint. detailing the fact that I was in ALL day.
This morning I check the website again to see if my delivery has been rescheduled ... what's this "Your parcel was delivered and signed by "LEFT IN SAFE PLACE, Monday Dec 2nd 14.18". How strange. I sent another emal complaining.
Faith from Customer Services emails me "Sorry, the driver did attempt the delivery but there was no one in. He left a card"
Hmmm. That doesn't explain the tracking status that says "Delivered" and despite searching high and low there is no card. How on earth did he manage to get past me to reach the front door??
Still Faith assures me that my parcel will be delivered today between 09.54 and 13.54.
Guess what? It's now 15.32 and no parcel ...
From now on when placing orders I wil be checking which courier firm a company uses and if it's City Link I wil be requesting that my parcels are sent by alternative means.
Disgraceful bunch of liars.
City link has to be one of the worst companies to ever ‘’operate’’ on the face of this earth. My wife sacrificed her sleep to wait for city link to deliver food for our puppy from Basil’s dog food company. I tracked the order online as you do, and it said that at 05:30am the items had arrived at the depot, and then at 11:30am the items were loaded onto the van. Okay. So I phoned my wife to update her on the order. It’s 6pm now and nobody has turned up? Wasted day. We gave them the benefit of the doubt because it’s coming towards christmas etc etc.. Anyway, the next day we phone city link and on the three occasions we phone they gave us 3 different stories. One was a glitch, the other was a mistake by the courier and the other one was that the courier tried to deliver the parcel but nobody was there – that was a total LIE. Finally, we arranged for a delivery and were told that it should arrive between 1830 and 2030? We thought why such a late slot? Anyway, the wife and I both waited this time infront of the window staring aimlessly at the driveway waiting for the city link courier to turn up. 2 hours later nobody shows up, yet the website says a courier tried to deliver the items to your location but nobody was there to receive them. A card has been left. Are you having a laugh?!? Is this some sort of prank?!?
I’m done with these incompetent , unprofessional, and thieving lunatics at city link. AVOID LIKE YOU WOULD A THUG WITH A WEAPON.
Needed to return item bought from a company who unfortunately use City Link. First collection arranged by City Link for between 9am and 1.30pm on Wednesday. Waited in all day but they didn't turn up. So rearranged collection for Friday. Was given a tracing number. City Link don't apparently use these tracing numbers which I can only assume was given to me to keep me quiet. Am now told that the driver might collect my return this afternoon but this is not guaranteed. They use a premium rate telephone number which I refuse to call. They only respond to emails is an automated response promising to contact you within 24 hours but, guess what, they don't!! Absolutely useless company.
I have been left in a situation by City-Link that i would class as totally unprofessional and damaging for anybody wishing to use such a company on a personal or business level. I will be cutting ties with them on a personal and business level shortly.
To cut a long story short i entrusted a valuable picture with City-link which they managed to lose in one day.
It was quite a straight forward procedure in my opinion, collect a 1metre square parcel and deliver to my home address,
It appears this is obviously too much of a request for City-Link to undertake because the driver who obviously cannot speak or read English has cross labelled it with a John Lewis parcel and my large 1metre square package is now amongst 65,000 other parcels with John Lewis at possibly the largest distribution centre in Europe apart from Amazon. Fantastic!!!!!
The flipside of this is Mrs Armitages from Leamington Spa,s £1200 painting that she ordered with John Lewis is proudly sitting in my home although its obviously mine now as it was addressed to me. She must be pulling her hair out as to where it is, as i am with mine.
City-Link have done ZERO about this. The delivery driver when i realised my delivery was the wrong size rang the Aylesford in Kent depot and a gentleman called Raj i believe was only interested in taking back the parcel and stated to the driver he wasn't concerned about my package.
This is what the courier driver informed me and i denied his request and kept the package as it had my name on it.
I have made many calls to City-link and have spoken to many people and quite simply no one has helped at all.
I was informed John lewis contacted City-Link to state they have a non John Lewis package delivered yet have no idea who rang them, who to get back to at John Lewis or how to retrieve my package.
I had to take this into my own hands and contact John lewis themselves which i shouldn't have had to do. Ive had to make international calls from abroad to them as well as them phoning me abroad as ive been away on business.
I will say John Lewis have been amazing, this is why they have 5* rating across the board.
They are a business that are concerned about customer support and are not employed as drones on the phone.
City-Link have contacted me - NOT ONCE.
City-Link very quickly stated the item was lost i believe because they could not be bothered to try and find my parcel.
I am a business manager in the Apple arena, i arrange all the collections and deliveries from Central London to our whole customer base.
As of tomorrow i shall not be using City-Link, i shall be contacting all my suppliers that use them and my distributors and recommend they use DPD who i have been speaking with yesterday.
They have guaranteed and all my associate businesse's a first class service and better pricing and that they will have someone who actually cares about my orders.
So for now, i have no picture and City-link have to explain to Mrs Armitage in Leamington Spa sadly her picture is also lost and if my picture is not found i shall hang hers instead as its addressed to myself and delivered to me.
All in all im pretty disgusted.
Everyone makes mistakes, everyone has issues within a business, a business proves how good it is when things go wrong.
Ordered an £80 item from a company who unfortunately use city link to deliver. Waited in all day, no-one rang the door bell or my phone and yet amazingly apparently the parcel was delivered according to city link! Now the item is missing and I do not have my item, apparently "Jack" has my item according to city link who can assure me they delivered it to the correct person at the correct address. My name is Samantha, not Jack. Complete fools and idiots. Avoid like the plague.
I canceled my entire day to be in for this parcel, while checking the parcel tracker it updated me telling me: There was no one to receive the goods at the delivery point so a card was left. Nobody knocked no card was delivered, now i'm just a really angry person without a parcel, i tried to phone city link but after 20 mins of talking to a computer i gave up. Thanks for the lost wages City Link, your'e so helpful, not.
I grew up in the Soviet Union where customer service was non existent. I thought nothing in that department could surprise or anger me. Until this week.
I booked a pick-up, cancelled all my work arrangements and stayed home for a day, constantly refreshing the parcel status page. I put a not on the front door, pointing to my buzzer and leaving my phone number. There's a vet at my address that usually picks up parcels/drops off deliveries on behalf of the residents if they are not there but I preferred to stay in.
At 4 pm the status of the parcel is updated: COLLECTION POINT CLOSED.
1. I'm in
2. My name and phone number are displayed on the front door on a note for the courier
3. The vet (if for any reason at all the courier read "Flat 2" as "Veterinary Practice" - strange dyslexia that would be but who knows?! is open too.
I get on to customer service: blah dee blah, nothing we can do but you can bring the parcel to our depot.
Wait! Me, bring parcel to your depot while YOU screwed up (and frankly lied about)? Ok, I can actually do it, as a goodwill gesture - but will you pay for my taxi to your depot then (it's a massive parcel?) No no, cannot do this.
I am, you see, quite busy. I cannot afford to waste my time arguing. So sod it - I reschedule the pickup for today. Stay in all day. SECOND DAY TAKEN OFF WORK ON CITY LINK'S BEHALF! Does the pickup arrive, ever? No.
Customer service, hello, want an update, where's the driver. Ah sorry. Do you want to reschedule for tomorrow? Mind you, we cannot give you a pickup time. (No suggestion of reducing the price for me, or adjusting the pickup time, or getting in touch with the courier - anything that normal customer service would do, like UPS has done for me many times).
Obviously I didn't reschedule for tomorrow, or ever.
I am an agent representing 11 fashion brands that do showrooms in London, Paris and Milan 4 times a year. I was looking to sign with a courier company and thought this pickup would be a test. Obviously City Link is not getting my business, nor that of any of my 11 brands, nor that of 100+ boutiques, e-tailers and department stores I work with. In fact, I am working on a mailout to send to my clients to recommend them to stay away from City Link. I am glad to have found this page - will certainly insert a link into the mailout.
I had two boxes collected on Thursday to be delivered to AMS Freight for onward delivery abroad only to be called by AMS that Citylink have lost one of my boxes with contents worth over £1000. Having waited for over a week now with incompetence both from Citylink and AMS I am now been offered a compensation of £100 by AMS as it appears my box has now permanently disappeared. I have never been unjustly treated in my life like this before. And the frustrating thing is I am unable to tell if AMS is chasing this up on my behalf or are just feeding me with crap they think I want to hear. I am frustrated beyond belief!!! CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS FOR ME?
I placed an order on Ebay and my parcel was sent via these people - WOW is all I can say.
I had an attempted delivery on the Saturday 16th November apparently - according to Dave the wonderfully rude and disgruntled customer service agent on their main number , We argued for ages where of course everything I said was wrong and he was right, he said he would send the pictures the driver took of my front door at time of attempted delivery as proof. When he sent the 2 identical pictures (one was cropped a bit to make them look like different pictures I think) it was in fact attempted delivery the Monday 18th not Saturday , and pictures dates and times can be falsified !!? not a very good system.
Anyways I received my first and only attempted delivery receipt on the Tuesday, saying I had to collect from depot as too many attempts had been tried, so I was a bit shocked as I never got a first delivery receipt ! if I had , I could have arranged delivery on Wednesday 20th when I was home all day .
So this one blunder led to me talking to Dave , oh Dave , what can I say ! amongst other things he told me that its up to the company who paid them to deliver the item to tell me the first day of attempted delivery, and the driver doesn't have to leave a first delivery receipt!?
I told him also there was no date or time or driver name on the only receipt I did give and again he said driver doesn't have to leave those details. oh and a business working day is Monday - Saturday according to Dave, as he works Saturdays!!! (seriously !) I explained to Dave that Monday- Friday is the definition of a working day, he was having none of it.
So the company I bought the item from said they would call and try get some sense out of them , they spoke to Dave and were flabberghasted , he could actually go down in history for being the most rude, unhelpful and antagonising person to deal with , and Ive dealt with BT !! so hats off Dave.
Oh and I am waiting for a redlivery today , I am nervous as to what will happen .....
Well today !!! a chinese sounding woman rang my buzzer said I had a delivery .....I went downstairs, and she was gone ..... I waited and thought she had gone to get my delivery but no , she literally rang and then ran, didn't leave an attempted delivery slip , she really didn't want to give me my parcel as I took about ten seconds to get downstairs after answering !!!, my new delivery number is GNJ15596 as given to me by the company I bought the item from , and on the website when I looked it up it said attempted delivery today , WHAT IS GOING ON ??, why do you not want to deliver parcels ????? its a disgrace !!!

I shipped an item sold via eBay with City Link. The booking agent I used was MyParclDelivery.com
I picked City Link, which wasn’t the cheapest quote, as mistakenly I assumed that it was an efficient well organised company. Sadly it isn’t!
Collection was made by a scruffy bloke in tee shirt & jeans and an unmarked van, and unlike every other carrier I have used he didn’t have a hand held reader or scanner, merely a tatty piece of A4 paper. He collected the box and that is the last anyone has seen of my item.
When it didn’t arrive I contacted MPD as they were the booking agent, they were very polite but sadly pointless, as City Link didn’t respond to anyone. After 10 working days I contacted one of the two City Link depot in Leeds who happily told me that stuff often got put on the wrong pallet and disappeared
City Link then informed MPD the same day that the parcel was lost, but then as a final insult refused to pay out on the insurance I had taken out on it.
I have never used City Link before and obviously will never use them again; it’s a Mickey Mouse set-up and little wonder Rentokil sold it off
FAO John Davies at City Link.
MPD consignment number MPD281724-1; City Link consignment number AS987673
What an appalling company to deal with! I have no idea if I am being helped or they are simply taking the mick.
Following my Trustpilot posting above as seen I added consignment numbers as requested by Mr John Davies. On the 27th of November I received a telephone call on from a lady named Tracy saying that they thought that it may have been incorrectly delivered to one of their larger clients.
She confirmed a description of the contents, its packaging and markings and stated that they had contacted this client and requested that they check their delivery. That would take maybe 24 hours or 48 hours at the outside but I would know the outcome by COP Friday the 29th of November.
Since the 27th all I have received is an earth shattering silence. I emailed City Link on Thursday the 28th via their website to offer a photograph of the contents; no reply, simply ignored.
As a week of silence has now passed I telephoned today, Wednesday the 4th of December. It rang for ages with a constant repeat of the inane tele-message stating ad infinitum that I could track my parcel via their website interspersed with the statement that I was moving up the queue; finally the sound changed to a proper ring tone and at that point one of City Link Customer Service agents no doubt pick up the call and immediately rang it off. Another call answered!!
City Link it would appear is a company that you cannot contact be either telephone or email.
My advice if you have a parcel to send, go elsewhere; anywhere else is better
Once again I am left victim to City Links total incompetence. I have waited in this Saturday morning till 11.20am and thought I would double check it is on route, after 2 no shows this week. I called the city link operator (Katy) and they had not booked it out again, after I had been assured yesterday that they had. I was informed that another manager would rectify this only to find, they did not call me back and when I tried to chase the matter, the call centre is now closed. So now, in total, they have failed to deliver 3 times with no valid excuse.
I will not be using city link for either of my 2 businesses again, as it badly reflects on anyone associated with this cowboy operation.
2 days ago, I had the misfortune of dealing with these so called "City Link". Suffice to say, they could not link two dots together let alone deliver parcels. Their office and warehouse have no coordination whatsoever and each do not know what they are doing. They kept giving me a load of bull about delivery dates and delivery times and overnight parcel arrived two days later. Boy, was i relieved to get shot of them! I hope people never use a company like this ever again. I certainly won't. And as for giving them stars, I'd put the stars where the sun doesn't shine. As they say in the Eurovision Song Contest, "Nil Point".
The worse delivery company in history.
Call centre staff are appallingly trained to deal with customers if you can be bothered to wait on hold to speak to a Vikki Pollard that is. "Your parcel is out for delivery this afternoon" followed by "the driver forgot to load your parcel" Finally "the van your parcel was on was stolen" WHAT UTTER CRAP! Will never use again and will not buy from companies that use S****Y Link for delivery. I will tell as many people as I can about your crappy delivery service. I am still waiting for a reply to my complaint!
Got 2nd attempted delivery card on first delivery. Couldn't get through on phone. 40 min drive to pickup parcel I ordered to be delivered to my house. This has happened before. Rubbish.
In the context of City Link, we have observed as follows;
1. They operate an anticipated delivery period from 0730 to 1730 (10 Hours!!)
2. A driver who came to our front door with an "Unable to deliver card" already written out (Do their self-employed drivers get paid to re-deliver?!)
3. A card posted through the door within a few feet of us saying there had been no response when the driver called - he neither rang the bell or knocked!!
4. An option to collect the parcel from City Link's "Local" depot, in the event of non-delivery. Meaningless as the "local" depot is approximately 50 miles away at Newmarket!!
If you are a company that values it's customers, you may be wise to resist a short-term 'cheap delivery rates' gain and consider the long-term cost of customers who will look elsewhere for your products. In my view, this company is very bad news.
Paid a supplier for a £150 product, paid for next day delivery which would originally come by Saturday. Stayed in all day in order to receive the package from 8am, nothing came by 2-3pm, so decided to check the amazon/city-link website with my tracking reference. It suggested that the estimated delivery time was 16.38-18.38. Noted this was a weird time schedule to keep to, so waited..... 1800 came and decided to check the tracker again. This time it states that it was back in the system, the driver had tried to deliver at 9.30am without response and that a card was left to prompt instruction, none of this was true; no contact, no delivery and no notification card. What's worse is that my neighbour was in all morning too, and they had no communication from any courier service, all this without the previous delivery estimates logged.
What really gets my goat is that I paid for next day, I should get it, their system reports false estimates and their drivers give incorrect and false data as tracking history logs. As a result I have lost out on some freelance work because this package didn't arrive on time, and driver has tried to escape accountability for it...
City Link have no quality control over their own service, and that reflects on the company itself.
We have been selling alloy wheels for more than 3 years and we always use UPS for our shipments as we are very happy with the level of service they are providing.
Unfortunately we noticed that City Link offers better rates than UPS and since we ship around 16 parcels per week , we decided to give it a go thinking we can save money of shipping WHICH WAS A BIG MISTAKE!
That day we booked City Link for our 9 shipments (18 parcels in total) and the 2 days later we started to get calls from our customers saying that wrong orders were delivered. By afternoon it became clear that all parcels were delivered to wrong customers, Can you believe this?
CITY LINK unlike UPS use self-employed drivers who have no idea what they are doing. Their biggest mistake is that their drivers do not use barcode scanners so even your parcels are collected, you have no chance to track them once they arrive at their depot. Driver will attach their own shippng labels and will not check which parcel is going where so if you are shipping 2 parcels to 2 different customers. They might get delivered to wrong customers because driver does not know or check which parcel is going to which address.
So basically what happened is our inexperienced City Link driver collected all 19 parcels, put them in his van and took off. What happened after that probably the driver or someone else at City Link attached the wrong shipping labels on all parcels.
We had to collect all parcels the next day from customers but this time by UPS and since then we never used City Link again. Their customer service is unresponsive, slow and unable to deal with problems.
No matter what rates they offer, we highly suggest not to use CITY LINK if you are running a business, You will end up losing your parcels, money and reputation.
I have sent out around 15 parcels this year, all but one was hassle free. The problem collection which was mostly my fault for nipping out thinking the owner driver would come around at there mid afternoon times that he previously came. rebooking is not as easy as it could be.
Also the online tracking has not always been updated to show when a successful delivery was made.
i had a parcel delivered on sat i was in and driver just left a card i wait until monday which is next working day no delivery i ring up and told i changed it to tuesday which i did not i wait on tuesday driver is told to leave package in safe place i come home to a card again once again i ring told no reason driver should not leave it wait until nxt day i am in all day took day off work once again driver does not knock just leaves card once again i ring up told it will be here today which is thursday i get home no delivery oncve again i ring up told it is friday now i ask what happens if i do not get my parcel i get told i have to go to depot it is over an hour away and 2 sick kids it is not fair no reason why driver cannot leave in safe place. i had to give a rating but if i had my choice i would not give them even 1.
This must be the worst courier company in the world. I believe they went out of business and were bought for £1. Hardly surprising and whoever bought them paid too much. It takes them four to five visits to make a delivery even though we are at home - they keep going to the wrong address. Of the goods they have managed to deliver after mutiple visits 70% of the items were damaged (probably because they have been to the moon and back in back of the van because they can't find the right address.)
Perhaps I am been unfair to them though - they must have a constant stream of new drivers as I am sure the ones they employ would not be able to find their way home at the end of the day.
my camera (£1400) was to be sent back to amazon and was picked up by citylink (chris) on the 6th of november . Alarm bells started ringing when i couldnt track the parcel with the tracking number given!. Amazon now saying the parcel has not been picked up by citylink which is a complete lie and they are now investigating it. Hope citylink have not lost/stolen the camera!
Paid on Amazon for a pre-1pm Saturday delivery. Sadly they use City Link. The package arrived two days late, on Monday morning! The driver was unapologetic and bordering on rude. It's not the first time I have had an issue with this terrible company. Come on Amazon, ultimately your reputation will become affected if this courier continues to make your customers unhappy.
I emailed City link on Saturday afternoon to ask what was happening regarding the delivery, and no surprise, I haven't heard back from them yet! More than 48 hours later.
Courier service!! Shocking, terrible and a disgrace.
order over £100 worth of items from Amazon and these were sent through City Link, i initially thought great a long standing company delivering my parcels. Got home checked when my parcels would be delivered to my surprise they stated that they had been delivered already @ 11:30 funny that seen as though me my GF and my son were all in and nobody answered the door to a delivery driver!
So i checked my cctv from 5am all the way through to when we got home at 6pm no delivery driver even drove to or past our house. Phoned amazon to be told that it had been delivered, i then had to convince Amazon that it hadn't!
Now i have been told that they are shut until Monday so expect a reply by Tuesday, Not very good though. I wouldn't mind if they said the delivery is late as it is for xmas but to lie when i have video evidence, get your butt into gear city link you don't run a business like this!
The worst courier company I've ever use.
First they not collecting parcel on booked day and saying that no one was at home
then U have to rebook collection, they collecting but you can't track it for next few days as U can only see message"awaiting to be collect".
On the third day going on "help live chat" to find out what is happening with your parcel as I you can't track it online and there some idiot(called Catherine) telling U that the system shows that your parcel wasn't collect yet and she wants to rebook collection day for U.just when I said that I got two witness who saw citylink courier collecting a parcel from me then she change the mind and telling me that delivery was fail.
This sound like they just want to keep/steal your parcel telling U that it is not sent at all.
Finally parcel paid as "next day" arrives to the place after 4 day
I was expecting a delivery on 5th November but nothing arrived. No delivery, no 'sorry we missed you' card through the door, nothing. The following day I checked the online tracking service to find that my parcel had been 'delivered' and indeed 'signed for' at 10.47 the previous day by someone who's name I didn't recognise (more on that later...). I assumed that it must be one of the neighbours and I'd have to go out knocking on doors once I'd finished work until I find the right one and receive my parcel. I was a bit annoyed that the driver hadn't left a card through the door telling me which neighbour had my parcel.
It turns out that my parcel was not with a neighbour. It had been dumped on my doorstep and left in full view of all passers by until I found it 34 hours later!!
So who exactly signed for my parcel?! I tweeted City Link and they told me it had been left as instructed. Who's instructions? Certainly not mine! 'Dear City Link, if I'm not home when you attempt to delivery my parcel please just leave it outside in the rain and please don't waste paper so don't bother to put a card through my letterbox. It needs to be signed for, so just make up a name or sign it LAI (left as instructed, which is how they signed it) and if a passer by decides to steal it then don't worry about it I won't find it (if it's still there) until the following day.'
Useless. incompetent. Avoid. Boycott anyone who uses this courier...

John Lewis and Citilink.
Ordered a computer from John Lewis. Supposed to be delivered by Citilink. Never arrived. Was supposed to delivered two days later when I would be at home. Arrived next day and was left on my doorstep in full view of the street. Contacted Citilink who said I had signed for it. This was impossible since I was not in. John Lewis were also not helpful. Will not use John Lewis again
Today is Wednesday. I had a nominated day for a delivery from Marks and Spencers of last Saturday. City Link say they tried unsuccessfully to deliver my parcel on Monday, but they were trying the wrong address. My husband phoned them on Tuesday to tell them they had tried the wrong address, and that we would wait in for the delivery that day. Nothing. The tracker information said successfully delivered at 14.49 LWN (left with neighbour) at no 18 Notley. We do not have a neighbour called Notley. To cut a long story short, they had left my parcel (severely battered and missing a load of cardboard) outside the back door of the house of no 16 in an adjacent road and fabricated that they had a signature from "Notley" at no 18. Luckily the inhabitant of the house returned late last night, took our parcel in and kindly drove round with it today. Please M & S, STOP USING CITI LINK. I will not be able to order again on line until you do. When we complained to Citi Link yesterday they said they would send the driver back to where he had left the parcel and get him to bring it to us, but we have not had any communication from them today.
I ordered a pair of shoes from John Lewis, who sadly chose to use Citilink for delivery. Citilink lost the delivery. According to their tracking website, I can still expect delivery on Monday 4th November (two days ago).
I contaced John Lewis yesterday re the missing shoes. They were very apologetic and immediately dispacthed a replacement pair with guaranteed delivery before 10:30 AM today (Wednesday). Sadly again, they chose to use Citilink. Citilink have wrongly identified this as a standard delivery in their system rather than guaranteed before 10:30 AM. Their tracking website says I can expect them between 9:19 AM and 11:19 AM today. It is now after 1:30 PM and there is still no sign of the shoes. It is a good thing I work from home or I would have wasted two days waiting for a delivery that has never arrived.
I used Citilink's email form to register a complaint on Monday evening, but apart from the auto-acknowledgement, I have had not response. I raised a formal complaint with John Lewis about Citilink's abject failure to perfom, and I hope thier management see sense and change to a new delivery provider ASAP.
Whoever you choose to do your deliveries, for you and your customer's sake PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE CITILINK!!!
I booked a parcel out with this outfit for collection today Nov 4th.
We send over 1000 units out every year and usually use Collect Plus or UPS.
Must confess a bit suprised when they failed to turn up.
No call, not message, nothing!
Certainly won't be wasting our time on them again.
